why is your hair shedding more than usual?
Guest blogger and Solstice hair stylist, Dru Sisson, has been hearing this from many of her clients. Here’s what she has to say on the matter, “Changes in medication is the most common reason. 2. If you are growing your hair out your hair may tangle more easily or you may be be fussing with it more frequently. All the more reason to keep up with regular trims to ensure your hair stays healthy. 3. Changes in eating habits. (dieters beware-low carb diet plans mean you aren’t getting vitamin B and Bcomplex found in grains. Make sure to take your supplements!) 4. Do you wear your hair up often and for the whole day? The normal amounts of of daily shedding may get stuck within the hair making it seem like you are losing more. The average person loses 100-200 hairs aday. As each hair falls it is replaced with the growth of new hair which grows about a half inch a month. 5. Closer to warmer months, like aniamals, humans shed a bit more. 6. Dryer months cause dehydrated hair and scalp making hair more brittle. Moroccan oil or Infusion Serum help to hydrate, strengthen and add shine to parched hair.” Dru Sisson can be reached at 508-775-7400 for more information and consultations.
